2017 Reflection

So the time has come after all the festivities to look to the year ahead. Whilst sitting here full of cheese and gin, I just wanted to try and find some words to talk about this year.

And what a year it's been. I feel like that's such a generic start to one of these types of blog posts but it's true. I think the year started off pretty plain to be honest. Working at a place I no longer liked. Plodding along in our little bungalow. Nothing bad, nothing particularly great.

I had my accident (which I'm sure you've all heard about by now, if not you can read about it here) in April which left me off work until June. If I'm honest it really affected the rest of my year and it's still very sore, but a lot of good things still happened.

The main thing being THIS. My lovely little space on the internet. And I bloody love it. I think I'd have ended up in a bit of a bad place mentally if I didn't have this to keep me busy so THANK YOU to all of you who have ready and enjoyed my blog, as well as encouraged me to keep going.

Sean and I got approved for a mortgage and found our perfect little flat, which we will be moving into over the next two weeks. Be ready for all the apartment tour posts and photos! We had a beautiful holiday together to Croatia which was a big thing for me too as I'm not keen on being away from home. It was incredible.

My main personal development this year is my mental health. It's improved so, so much and I'm pleased to say I am now off my medication! *happy dance* And I now work in a place I absolutely bloody love, just to top it off. This year has definitely had it';s fair share of highs.

All I really want for the year moving forward is my health to improve, and for my nearest and dearest to be healthy and happy too. I don't really set "resolutions" as such but I do have a few goals I'd like to focus on.

I want to focus on my blog. Getting better photos, growing it in size and putting better content out there for you lovely lot. I'm so pleased that since mid-June I have had over 6000 views. Not much to some, but I'm proud as punch.

I want to focus on me. Doing things for me. Bettering my health. Not being afraid of saying no. All those usual things that often get pushed to the sidelines of busy, day-to-day life.

I want to create the best life possible for myself and those around me. Kind of supporting the last statement. I want to live my best life.

Lastly, I want to develop my career. I work in healthcare full time and I can't wait to progress further in my field of work.

What are your goals for the year ahead? Let me know in the comments; I'd love to have a chat with you!

Wishing all of you all the best for the New Year.

Love,
Samantha x
