Summer Beauty Faves 2017

It's actually been pretty summery here in the UK so far! To celebrate the lovely weather, I've gathered a few of my top beauty faves I've been enjoying over the past couple of months to share with you all. Some are all time faves, some are more recent discoveries. Either way, these are products that I absolutely ADORE right now. I hope you try them out and love them just as much as I do!

LUSH Bath Products - Here I have two of my all time bath besties. The Comforter Bubble Bar smells HEAVENLY and leaves my skin feeling so insanely soft; it's a number one of mine that's truly irreplaceable. I've also got here the Sakura bath bomb which smells insanely good and really helps me to unwind with it's lovely essential oils. And before you start thinking "it's too hot for baths" - no. It's NEVER too hot for a LUSH bath! I'm so upset that I don't have my own bath tub where I'm living atm, but it's probably a blessing in disguise as I'd spend all my money on LUSH products :)

(it's not a bad way to spend all my pennies, thinking about it!)

This next product has held a special place in my heart for a few years now. It's the Collection - Lasting Perfection concealer in the shade '1. Fair'. I find this concealer amazing for covering dark circles under my eyes (which I have a lot of when I can't sleep in this heat!) and any blemishes I might have. It blends suuuuper easily and it doesn't crease under my eyes either. At under a fiver, I don't think I'll ever find a concealer I prefer at such a bargain. Even some of the more pricey concealers I own don't compare.

A more recent discovery of mine is the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream range, which I instantly fell in love with. I bought the shade 'Cannes' this month, which is the perfect pinky-nudey colour and I think it would suit any skin tone. It has a matte finish (as the title might suggest!) but it doesn't feel drying or uncomfortable like some liquid lipsticks do. It's pretty long-wearing as well, as it doesn't budge when eating or drinking (and I do a lot of those things). They've now bought out a range of lip liners to match the colours in the Soft Matte Lip Cream collection, which I didn't invest in but there's soooo much I want to try by NYX; they're on my list!

Keeping hydrated in the warmer weather is really important; it's a good habit all year round and it has so many benefits for you, both inside and outside. One thing I have been using to stop me looking like a dried apricot on the outside is Burt's Bees Lip Balm. I had an absolute steal in Boots the other day as they were selling a pack of 2 for only £1.50! I'd definitely get and pick those up if you're in town any time soon. Like I said before, lip balm is good come rain or shine, but I always seem to be better at remembering to apply it in the warmer months! It also makes a great alternative to lipsticks and lip glosses if you aren't feeling like having anything too heavy on your lips.

Having stayed loyal to Maybelline's Lash Sensational mascara for a very long time (probably since it came out!), I have been brave and spread my wings. Only a little bit though; I've been using the Colossal Big Shot mascara (also by Maybelline) and it's definitely been as good! I can't say I prefer it over the Lash Sensational but it's been nice to use a different type of brush. Lash Sensational has a curved, plastic brush whereas the Colossal Big Shot has a straight, bristle brush. I get on fine with both brushes, but I usually find I inflict less pain on myself with a bristle one.

Last but not least, another long term favourite of mine. I love the TRESemme Care & Protect Heat Defence spray. As a frizzy-haired beast by nature, I do often turn to the straighteners. Having frazzled my hair within an inch of it's life as a teen (I literally had chunks falling off my head), it's really important to me to use a heat protector EVERY time I use heat on my hair. It's the one thing I won't be lazy with! I love this spray as it's super affordable, it protects up to 230° and it doesn't leave my hair feeling sticky or greasy like other sprays do.

What beauty products have been your go-to's lately? Let me know in the comments or drop me a message so I can discover some new ones too!

p.s another beautiful fave of mine is my new logo and blog pretties, created by the wonderful Tammi at www.shadowcatcreative.co.uk
